98% of the entire mooring system was maintained successfully in 2023

In 2023, the HEPCA mooring team achieved great success by successfullymaintaining the mooring system of the Red Sea, which is the largest in theworld. They visited various locations including Hurghada, Safaga, Elquser, AboDabbab, Marsa Alam, Wadi Elgemal, Hamata Island, and St. John's.

During their visits, they checked 172 locations and serviced a total of 930moorings. Some moorings were serviced multiple times, resulting in a total of914 mooring maintenance operations. Additionally, they performed 450re-installations and installed 22 new moorings, along with 4 new dive sites.

This project, named "Red Sea Mooring," has been instrumental inensuring the safety and stability of the mooring system. Over the years, thenumber of moorings has steadily increased, catering to the growing demands ofthe region.

In 2023, all moorings were successfully maintained, except for certain oneson Brother Island and Abu Kaizan. However, the team made significant progressby creating new dive sites, including Jaisum Island, Shab Elsakala, Erg Gamy,and Urg Altwil.

Furthermore, they installed 12 new moorings for artificial diving and anadditional 10 moorings on Jaesum Island. Their efforts also included underwaterclean-up operations at Elfanus Turtle Bay, Gotta Aburamada, HEPCA Garde Flfla,Abu Hshesh, Big Magawesh, Small Magawesh, Samadai Dolphin House, Egla BayMarina, and Marsa Alam.

The team also played a vital role in removing fishing cages and nets fromvarious locations, including Gotta Elder, Shab Elerg, Felfel, Shab Al Fanous,Fanadir, Shabrur Elgiftun, Big Magawesh, Small Magawesh, Abumongar, and ShabrurAl Giftun.
