A big step to improve the solid waste management system by a safe sanitary landfill
The Ministry of Local Development handed over the safe sanitary landfill to the Red Sea Governorate to improve the management of the solid waste system and raise its efficiency, Major General / Ahmed Marzouq, Assistant General Secretary of the Red Sea visited the safe sanitary burial ground, accompanied by Major General Osama Abdel Qawi, Director of Solid Waste Management at HEPCA, and the General Administration for Environmental affairs, Director of the Regional Branch of the Environmental Affairs Agency, Director of Planning, the representative delegation of the Waste Regulatory Agency, consultants of the Arab Academy for Science and Maritime Transport, and environmental offices in cities.
A sanitary landfill is a pit with a protected bottom where trash is buried in layers, compacted (pressed down to make it more solid), and covered. A sanitary landfill can reduce harm from waste that has collected, and is safer than an open dumping site

تزامنا مع تسليم وزارة التنمية المحلية المدفن الصحي الآمن لمحافظة البحر الاحمر لتحسين ادارة منظومة المخلفات الصلبة ورفع كفاءتها، تفقد اللواء /احمد مرزوق سكرتير عام مساعد البحر الاحمر يرافقه كلا من اللواء أسامة عبدالقوي مدير إدارة المخلفات الصلبة بجمعية المحافظة على البيئة هيبكا ومدير عام الإدارة العامة لشئون البيئة ومدير عام الفرع الاقليمى لجهاز شئون البيئة ومديرعام التخطيط والوفد الممثل لجهاز تنظيم المخلفات واستشاري الأكاديمية العربية للعلوم والنقل البحرى والعاملين بالإدارة العامة لشئون البيئة والفرع الاقليمي لجهاز شئون البيئة ومكاتب البيئة بالمدن المدفن الصحى الآمن
وجاءت هذه الزيارة ضمن لقاء توعوي تدريبى لبناء قدرات العاملين في مجال إدارة المخلفات الصلبة ضمن برنامج رفع قدرات العاملين في مجال إدارة المخلفات الصلبة على مستوى الجمهورية والذى ينفذه جهاز تنظيم إدارة المخلفات والأكاديمية العربية للعلوم والتكنولوجيا والنقل البحري حيث يتضمن التدريب زيارة ميدانية للمدفن الصحى الآمن بمدينة الغردقة
