Earth Day 2012
Since 1990, people all over the globe gather together under one cause: to make our environment greener. During the Earth Day 2012, which will take place on the 22nd of April, people from all nationalities and races will voice their appreciation to Mother Earth by doing their part in preserving the environment. We, HEPCA, know that the most dangerous hazards in the Red Sea district are freely disposed and uncollected plastic products. This is why we are inviting everybody to join our biggest cleanup campaign on Abu Monkar Island. We will meet on Sunday 22nd of April at 10am in the New Marina (Hurghada), outside Papas Beach, from where we’ll take a boat to the island and back. We advise volunteers to take with them: *Hat, to protect from the sunrays *Shoes, that are comfortable to wear on the beach and which can get wet *Gloves, if possible *Sun cream, applied generously before departure *A smile, the most important ingredient It is good to remember that the cleanup will take place on the island that means we will have to walk a little bit to the shore, so please bear in mind that anything you will wear might get slightly wet. For more information on the biggest cleanup of the day in Hurghada please visit our facebook event page. There will also be self-organized clean-ups all over the Egyptian Red Sea carried out by dive centers, hotels, water sport centers and schools. We are very happy to have received so many positive replies from facilities all along the coast, which will do cleanups with their guests, staff and friends. If your company would also like to organize a cleanup for Earth Day 2012, please contact joanna@hepca.com asap! If you are not in Hurghada but would still like to participate in a cleanup somewhere along the Red Sea coast, please contact joanna@hepca.com for locations of other cleanups! We are looking forward to a beautiful day with many volunteers!
