HEPCA & Ain Shams University - Working Towards Environmental Education
In our efforts to support environmental education and awareness among the youth, HEPCA has recently teamed up with the Ain Shams University in Cairo. The Alsun faculty of the Ain Shams University has started an ambitious new environmental campaign called "Alsun Green." The aim of the campaign is to give priority to environmental education and to encourage student to pursue and apply this education in their everyday lives. The Alsun faculty has asked HEPCA to support the Alsun Green project and we've made a commitment to participating in this initiative. On April 10, 2013 HEPCA donated 10 trash bins to the university to commemorate this new initiative. One of the HEPCA staff members personally delivered the bins to the university and also gave a lecture to the students about the importance of conservation and sustainable use of our resources. We are working with Ain Shams University on a long-term educational and awareness raising program, which is part of our efforts towards engendering a culture of environmental stewardship among the youth. Over the past 5 years, HEPCA has spearheaded multiple educational initiatives like our award winning Madrasty Initiative and Future Egyptian Environmental Leaders (F.E.E.L.). We will continue building on such educational models with the aim of developing a generations of Egyptian minds that will give priority to environmental conservation.
