HEPCA Patrolling team and Fishermen remove more than 1km of illegal nets
Hepca Patrolling Team with the participation of Haj Salman Ouda- Sheikh of Red Sea Fishermen and the national park have succeeded yesterday the 30th of July to remove more than one kilometer of illegal nets ( Sabib ) from north Giftun. The nets belong to some fishermen form outside the red sea who do not care about the red sea environment and its natural resources . The nets were old but contained large quantities of dead fish, live fish, coral and shells. We tried to release and return fish, corals & shells to minimize the damage as much as possible. We are urging everyone to start acting consciously towards the red sea environmental , the damage is unrecoverable and we need to act now before it's too late. The red sea resources are natural heritage that we must conserve for future generations and the asset of tourism industry in the region.
