Mooring Team May Report

May 2017 has witnessed many important activities done by HEPCA`s mooring team, The Zoning buoys for dolphins protection in Shuaab el Erg have been installed to prevent violations and misconduct during encounter with dolphins. In spite of the efforts in raising the awareness of the importance of the code of conduct for dolphins encounter specially in the areas of Fanous and Shuaab El Erg ,and the continuous patrols by HEPCA and the Red Sea national parks, we still witness many violations by some irresponsible operators. We urge all operators and visitors to follow the code of conduct in order to preserve our natural resources and the group of dolphins living in those areas. In addition, We continued our campaign of collecting the lost fishing nets. Areas that has been covered : South abou monkar, Been El Gibal,South Giftun and Magawish keebera. Also during the month of May ,HEPCA's team conducted the periodic maintenance for the buoys in the area of Shams Alam ,Abu Dab and Hurghada . 62 diving and snorkel sites were visited, 359 buoys were examined and 58 buoys were maintained.
