Stop Killing Sharks Campaign

Almost on a daily basis, we receive shark meat trade incidents!
Through our communication channels, we received so many incidents of the shark meat trade in different governments around Egypt. The Egyptian environmental law protects the red sea sharks. According to research done by Hepca in 2002, every shark besides its value to nature and its biodiversity represents a value of more than 200 thousand dollars for the diving and tourism industry. Hepca is collaborating with all governmental authorities to get to the bottom of this story.

According to recent statistics, it’s estimated that more than 100 million sharks are killed worldwide annually—a large portion of them for the illegal fin trade. This number is clearly not sustainable. As we’ve seen in other ecosystems, bad things follow when you eradicate such an integral animal.

وفقًا للإحصاءات الحديثة، أكثر من 100 مليون سمكة قرش تُقتل سنويًا في جميع أنحاء العالم - جزء كبير منها بسبب التجارة غير المشروعة في الزعانف.
