The Marie Lou

On the 4th of January morning HEPCA received news that around 4 AM. Marie Lou, a diving liveaboard was under risk of sinking while on her way to the deep south from Hurghada. The water had already entered the boat from the port side, the vessel’s Captain reacted immediately to the problem by taking the boat to the closest reef possible in order to save everyone on board. As soon as HEPCA got the news , we reported the accident to the National Parks Office in Marsa Alam, they responded efficiently and confirmed that their team had already moved to assess the scene and to follow up with the situation. The boat was found lying on its port side, South of El Quseir – 2 km North of Masjid El Sheikh Malek. We will keep monitoring the situation and are relieved to confirm that there were no casualties resulting from this event. حادث مركب "مارى لو": فى يوم 4/1/2014 و فى حوالى الرابعة صباحا تلقت هيبكا خبر تعرض مركب الغطس " مارى لو " إلى الغرق و كان القارب فى طريقه إلى جنوب الغردقة، و قد دخلت المياه بالفعل من الجانب الأيسر للقارب ، و عندما علم قائد المركب بوجود مشكله فيه قام بالتوجه على الفور إلى أقرب منطقة شعاب مرجانية لإنقاذ جميع من بالقارب .عندما تلقينا نبأ الحادث قمنا على الفور بتبليغ مكتب المحميات البحرية بمرسى علم و بالفعل قاموا بإتخاذ اللازم و اتجهوا إلى موقع الحادث لمتابعة و تقييم الحالة.تم العثور على القارب ملقاه على جانبه الأيسر على بعد 2 كم من مسجد الشيخ مالك جنوب القصير.و سوف نستمر فى مراقبة الوضع ، و نشعر بالرضى لعدم وجود خسائر فى الارواح ناجمة عن هذا الحادث.
